The bad news at Tennessee just got a little worse.
The Tennessee Lady Vols have fallen out of the Top 25 for the first time in 31 years. That’s right, 31 years. That’s 565 consecutive weeks. Now that record is done and the eight time National Champions are not among the top 25 teams in the country.
Take a moment to ponder that record. The last time the Lady Vols were not in the Top 25 was in February of 1985. None of the current players on the Lady Vols roster were born yet by about a decade.
The Lady Vols former arch rivals were UCONN are the longest running women’s team in the top 25 with 428 consecutive weeks. Talk about insult to injury.
