The Sunday – Achieving Goals

Compiled by Brad Hubbard | @bradhubbard | 6.4.2017

600

Mr Albert Pujols. He is the quietest major leaguer to ever get to 600 home runs and only the 6th one to do it in history. Up next on his Hall of Fame – to – be – career? 3,000 hits.

Fight!

Now for the bad side of baseball, a revenge beaning followed by a fight. But first, the history between Bryce Harper and Hunter Strickland.

And now the replay..

It is good to know that neither Harper or Pujols will be threatened by UFC President Dana White when it comes to hitting a baseball.

It’s Good To Have Goals

Juventus may have lost the Champions League final but we all won when Mario Mandzukic made this one in the first half.

And now for the rest….

Just for Kicks

It’s all fun and games until someone turns out the lights with a head kick.

Ouch

Some days you think, ‘man, that guy doesn’t deserve all that money to be a pitcher.’ Then other days you see the hazards of being on.

Well Done

And now it’s time to take a look at the best of MLS this past Saturday.

Goals

It turned out to be the game winner for the Nashville Predators. And all it took was a dive from a kid.

While this was impressive, it may not have been as impressive as the Tennessee Titans slamming tallboys during a previous game in Nashville.

Respect

Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell died this past week from an apparent suicide. The Seattle Mariners honored the Seattle native during their game Thursday night with a moment of silence and a playlist featuring Cornell’s music.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs

One could make the argument that the toughest trophy to win in all of sports is the Stanley Cup. If you don’t believe that, then tune in to the games going on now and watch the skill, hits, and passion. Below are some highlights from this past week.

Hell Ya Canada!

The Winner

3-0. No Problem

When It’s Pretty

Cubs Being Cubs

Expect the unexpected when you are a Cubs fan.

The Sunday – Best Tackle Ever

Sign The Bunny Up

Let’s face it, you won’t see a better tackle than this all year long. Someone is going to sign the Easter Bunny to an NFL contract.

Trolling

What’s better than sweeping your rival in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs? Having the mascot troll all the people who didn’t pick you to win.

Wow!

Darlington Nagbe is up to his old awesome goal scoring tricks again.

And Charlie Blackmon showing you that hustle really does pay off.

Ouch

The Sunday – From Scary To Celebration

Compiled by Brad Hubbard | @bradhubbard | 4.16.2017

The Scary

We live in a world with scary moments. Borussia Dortmund had an explosions near their bus that put one player in the hospital. It happened on the way to their Champions League match against Monaco on Tuesday.

In a moment that made SF Giants fans and the MLB brass gasp in horror was when Giants catcher Buster Posey took a 94 mph fastball to the head. He’s on the concussion DL and will hopefully be back behind the plate soon.

The Good

Despite bombs and getting hit in the head with a 90+ mph fastball, there is some good in the world and it was reflected in two different spring games on Saturday. First at Ohio State.

And then at Nebraska.

Why We Love Baseball

Cat Climbs A Wall.

Snarfing the Phanatics wheels.

WOW

Legend

UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson cemented his place in the record books as he tied Anderson Silva for the most title defenses in a row with 10. He is a bad man and the nicest guy you’ll ever want to meet.

Savoring the Saves

The NHL season wraps up today and here are some last minute contenders for Save of the Year.

The Quick-ness by Jonathan Quick.

The Robbery…

Nothing but stick….

Madison the Destroyer

An MLB first, a pitcher hits not one but two home runs on opening day. Bad news, he didn’t even get the win as the SF Giants bullpen blew the game.

Skimming And Scoring

The Sunday – Upsets, Arrivals And Scary Moments

End of the Run

Regardless of if the Mississippi State women’s basketball team wins the National Title game on Sunday, they have already accomplished the impossible. They defeated the previously unbeaten UCONN Huskies in the semifinal of the Final Four on a last second shot by the shortest person on the floor.

This was UCONN’s first loss in 111 games. To put that in perspective, the last time they lost was 865 days ago or if you prefer, November of 2014. Mississippi State’s victory is officially one of the greatest upsets of all time.

Fights

Schweinsteiger

Bastian SchweinsteigerBastian Schweinsteiger brings a bit of experience with him to the Chicago Fire. A decade plus playing for Bayern Munich and 120 plus appearances with the German National team which included a World Cup championship in 2014.

Despite his pedigree, some members of the media were either utterly nervous or just didn’t know their sport.

And of course he scores in his first game.

Scares

Scary moments in Philadelphia as starting goalie Michal Neuvirth collapsed on the ice. He was unconscious for a bit but was moving and awake when he was taken off the ice via a stretcher.

He was still in the hospital as of this morning. On a better note, the backup goalie was called up that day from the minors and barely made it in time for the game. Then the emergency goalie for the Flyers, Eric Sembrowski, almost got into the game with 24 seconds remaining. Unfortunately Sembrowski wasn’t allowed to play due to some NHL rules. The Flyers fans let the refs know that they didn’t approve.

The Sunday – Hot Shots

Compiled By Brad Hubbard | 3.19.2017

That Hurt

The only better than racing are the fights after the race. But then again, what else would expect after a long, hot afternoon in Las Vegas.

But this may have hurt more….

Watch Out

Cycling isn’t the world’s biggest sport which is why this woman out walking her dog probably had no idea that one of the sports best cyclists, Peter Sagan, was doing a time trial.

While upset at the time Sagan later joked about the incident when he posted this photo to his twitter account.

Shots

While many people did quite a few shots on St. Patrick’s Day was past Friday. One would have to argue that these shots were better.

This Guy

He stole our hearts and possibly a meat pie. He hits the pub, eats a pie and somehow his club loses to Arsenal.

Anniversaries

This week marked the 37th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice. Kind of ironic nowadays.

And it was the 32nd anniversary of Bobby Knight trying to give someone a chair from across the basketball court.

February Madness

Former Colorado State guard John Gillon making Duke fans cry.

Meanwhile back in Fort Collins, the game winning 3 from the unlikeliest of people…

Cmon Bill!

Steph Curry Moment of the Week

How about 17 points in the third quarter
