The Sunday – The Greatest Hits

Mark It Down

Cristiano Ronaldo is really good…..

Lionel Messi is too just not in this case.

Football Is Back

Like the other kind of football? No, I mean the CFL. Well it’s back and had some memorable moments.

How bout this catch…

If that catch was a catch of the year candidate, then this hit is a hit of the year candidate.

But if you want to know what the NFL guys are doing, it’s something like this.

The Better

What can give you hope, seeing this.

The Minors

God bless you Minor League Baseball.

Safe to say that Phil Mickelson is feed up with this US Open.

The Sunday – Ups, Downs and Back Up

Finally

The Washington Capitals finally got their cup. That means that Alex Ovechkin lifted the Stanley Cup. A trophy he’s been chasing and one most people thought he’d lifted many, many years earlier. Bottom line, Ovechkin became part of a team that was able to get over the hump (the Eastern Conference Semi’s). Once that was complete, the rest was almost a inevitable.

Heck, even the rivals gave a tip of the cap.

Baseball and then Baseball

Did this just happen? Yep. Not exactly something that Major League Baseball want’s fans to see.

This on the other hand is what Major League Baseball does want you to see.

Cold Blooded

The Golden State Warriors dynasty run continues. A sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers. While game four was of course the official end, game three was the dagger and it was delivered by on Kevin Durant.

Impressive

Watch the whole thing. It’s an impressive feat. A clear example of never, ever giving up. Even when the odds look impossible.

Well Played

Wow!

Right to the gut.

Sign this kid up.

Nolan being Nolan.

What The?

Goodbye Buffon

The Good Side

The Sunday – Ups And Downs

Rinne Out

The Nashville Predators won the Presidents’ Trophy which means they had the best regular season record in the NHL. That is in no way a guarantee that you do well in the playoffs. Well they went out with a whimper as they were crushed 5-1 by Winnipeg in Game 7 in Nashville.

The hard part, watching someone like Pekka Rinne get chased and then just sit in the tunnel.

Impressive

How about the welcome Andrew McCutchen got when we showed up in Pittsburgh as a member of the San Francisco Giants.

While that was impressive, this may be more so. Shohei Ohtani’s batting practice in Denver.

But this was the most impressive. Stephen Piscotty was having the start of a good career in St. Louis. But the Northern California native’s mother was ill. She had Lou Gehrig’s disease. So what did St. Louis and Oakland do? They made a trade is off season to get Piscotty back to the bay area. His mother passed away a week ago. When he came up to bat in his first game back he received this ovation from the fans and opposing team.

These are the reasons I love baseball.

Retirement

Lyoto Machida has a tendency to send folks into a retirement with a front kick to the face for the KO.

Speaking of retirement, Darian Durant has called it a career. Who, you ask? Durant played at UNC and then went on to an impressive career in the CFL. He has two Grey Cup’s to his name, threw for over 31,000 yards and 165 touchdowns. Oh, he’s only 5’11”.

WOOOOWWWW

Gotta love the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Better

One of the great things about sports is that it reminds us how good we can be as human beings.

Always love these moments.

It takes more than just the players.

Watch Out!

Scary moment during the Cubs v Rockies game. Fortunately Bryant wasn’t seriously hurt. He’s doing as good as can be expected.

Bryce Harper did something very impressive, he hit a home run while breaking his bat. Damn.

The Sunday – Bringing Back The Beauty

The Beautiful Game

Cristiano Ronaldo did it again. He did the amazing that even gave  the opposing clubs fans a reason to stand and cheer.

Well, that’s an amazing save.

The Masters

Even if you hate golf, you have to like these.

Well It’s Baseball

Things you’d expect to see in minor league baseball are now in the majors such as,

A bald eagle landing on a player…..

Snow storm for a home opener….

And a hockey stick for an opening pitch.

While ejections can weaker and weaker.

Walk Off

Two of the better, and stranger, walk offs you’ll see.

And then there was this in the 14th inning.

Ugly And Good

The UFC’s biggest star did this….

Which took a couple of fighters off of the UFC 223 card. Then NYPD did this…

But remember, there are more good folks in sports then there are bad. While McGregor did what he did and was charge with a crime, Tennessee Titans quarterback did this for the Special Olympics.

Saves and Swats

Livin the Dream

And his reward, $0. But hey, bet he’d do it again.

STARTS

Thats’s how you start a season!

Zlatan showed up in LA on Thursday.

Then on Saturday in the first derby between LA Galaxy and LAFC, Zlatan put on a display that put a smile on everyone’s face….unless you are an LAFC fan.

Easter Flashback

This might get better with age….

The Sunday – Madness In Many Forms

Compiled by Brad Hubbard | @bradhubbard | 3.25.2018

Let It Snow

Well it is spring but don’t tell Mother Nature that. She, and Father Time, are the only two to ever be undefeated. Take note NASCAR.

Blocking Madness

Ooooooohhhh!!!! Is pretty much how ever one reacted when they saw this….

Most of the time Pekka Rinne is much better than this. But for Make – A – Wish, we absolutely make an exception.

Sid The Kid

Well he’s not a kid anymore….but still amazing.

Sign of the Week

The Sunday – The Super of Sports

Compiled by Brad Hubbard | @bradhubbard | 2.4.2018

Not So Super

Ok, I get that not all Americans are football fans but there are some basic things that you could at least hazard a guess on. Couldn’t ya? Dallas Cowboys? You can’t offer that up as a guess? As an NFL saying goes, “C’mon Man!”

Hall Of Fame

Something cool about this. No phone calls, no letters or tweets. Just a good ole fashion knock on the door. Welcome class of 2018.

Moss will make ya cry.

Super Crashes

Roo Rage….

Friendly Fire…

Super Blocks….

Super Scores

McDavid being McDavid.

And of course after this, security missed this guy coming out from the crowd….

Super Skills

Age doesn’t matter cause when you got it, you got it.

The Sunday – Whoa, Nelly!

Compiled by Brad Hubbard | @bradhubbard | 1.14.2018

Whoa, Nelly!

The great Keith Jackson passed away this weekend. The commentator is the second legend of the industry to pass away in a matter of weeks. Jackson was the soundtrack for college football for several generations. He called some of the greatest games in the sport including the 2006 National Championship game between Texas and USC.

And of the course the Colorado Hail Mary back in 1994.

He was an icon of the industry and he will be missed.

Winning

On passing

In pregame…

In the meltdown….

In trying to be the next Steph Curry

And in the finish….

Moments of the Week

Not sure why, how, or if this was a good idea but I am glad someone thought of it.
